Registration Process - Updated Procedure for 2005

From time to time, we have had members who have committed to attend an event and have asked to be registered for that event through the 7th Kentucky, Inc.  For whatever reason, when billed, the member has not paid the fee to the group.  Further, some members have been in arrears in their dues and registration fees and have left the group without settling the accounts.

In order to be registered with the group, you must contact the Treasurer (preferably through the event pre-registration form on our website or by e-mail or in writing by mail) by the deadline listed for each event.

We offer group registration for the selected events during the calendar year as a convenience for our members.  The Treasurer prepares a statement at the end of the year showing those line items, which you, as a member, have paid.  Effective in 2005, each member must be current in his or her account with the group to be included in the group event registration process.  If you have specific questions, contact the Treasurer.

This updated procedure was approved by the membership at the January 2005 Annual meeting.

Financial Summary from Annual Meeting
The corporation had a net increase in cash position from 2003.  The deficit balance in the corporate account will be allocated to the sections.  The Treasurer will examine the last few years and allocate the annual negative balance for each year by the number of paid members in each section for the same periods.  Future corporate expense will be allocated by number of paid members in each section.

New Corporate Board Members - Congratulations to:
Wayne Fielder, elected to serve another 3-year term as a member of the corporate board.
Amanda Hoback, elected to fill the 2 years remaining on the un-expired term.

Welcome to New Recruits
The Artillery has three new recruits to add to the muster rolls.  Roger Callendar hales from northern Illinois and fell in with us at Franklin.  Kermit Hilles lives in northern Indiana and made his first event at Perryville last October.  Scott Byers originally joined the Civilian section, but has thrown in his lot with the battery boys.  Welcome gentlemen to the Battery and to the 7th Kentucky, Inc.

Manual for New Recruits
This new manual was presented at the 2005 Annual Meeting.  Each new recruit will receive a copy when the Treasurer receives initiation fee.  Current members may request a copy, at $20 per manual (this covers the royalty fee we send to the Columbia Rifles for use of their Compendium and the cost of copying and binding the manual).  Contact Bill Baas or Chuck Warnick for more details.

Members - Update your Contact Information, please.
In order to effectively communicate, headquarters must have your correct contact information.  You need to let us know if you have changes.  You can do this on line or send via snail mail.  Elements needed:

   Your Name
Your Current Mailing Address, Including Zip Code
   Home Telephone Number
   Work Telephone Number (optional)
   Cell Phone Number (optional)
   E-mail Address
Wish to receive paper copy of the newsletter - yes or no
Wish to be on your section's list-serve

We have a list-serve for each section, provided by Wayne Fielder.  Your e-mail address will be added to the appropriate list-serve unless you tell us you do not want to be included.  This is a quick way for commanders and officers to send out messages to all members of each section and for those members to reply so that all can read the reply.  If you have questions, contact Wayne Fielder for more details.

Upcoming Events
The upcoming events page has been updated.  It will continue to be amended as additional information arrives at HQ.  Click here to check out the 2005 events.  And remember, if you want to fall in with the "other section" for an event, you are welcome to do so.

That's all that's fit to print.
Chuck Warnick, Editor
